Klaus Carsten Beck, aka EZ KCB, aka EZ BEE,

Hamburg based free-lancing photographer, photojournalist & pixelpusher.

49 years old, started to picture the world at the age of 11.

Engaged in nightlife & rock`n roll bizz for three decades now, therefore has detailed knowledge on a hell lotta locations, the  local do`s and dont`s, the players & their habits, likes and dislikes.

Convinced that it is a matter of respect for all involved in a shooting to have minimum  in mind that "planning prior prevents piss poor performance" (5p-rules!), nevertheless enjoys the thrilling kick of a good hit of adrenaline, when booked for to have `em media folks some pics made, and despite all the care taken, suddenly Murphy`s Law ("If anything  can go wrong — it will go wrong!") rules...

Still regards photography to be the most impressing  way to conserve special moments in present to be revisited in future if well done, `cause „one look is worth A thousand words.“ (Fred R. Barnard, Printers’ Ink, december 8th, 1921).

Allways fascinated by people and their contradictions, with a camera as  constant companion, day in and day out, he is scouting on location - in recent years increasingly in the close environment of young artists, at Hamburg`s off-premises and their communities, where they show their art.

Such long-term projects always are in need of the creation of an intimate atmosphere, to ensure quite personal shots to be made of  the young artists with their families, friends and their work in their natural habitats.

Three of the artists received special attention at the exhibition "No Trinity In Sight" , which he presented in relationship to Hamburg`s 5th triennal of photography in 2011 - a trip from the valley of despair to the heights of euphoria, a visit to groupies and critics, connoisseurs and pompous, a study tour in the world of arts and crafts, the underdogs of society, who many times with growling stomachs, the undaunted lived what seemed to be their natural destiny: to unleash creativity.

To all other young artists, no matter of which discipline,  he feels deeply respectful, because they are not deterred in their pursuit of artistic expression and freedom - despite some severe financial hardship and the worst housing and living conditions.

Speaks fluently german, english, french and spanish.

Allways seeking for well paid jobs, will travel.
